Super Mario Maker, amiibo and Nintendo 3DS Take Center Stage at San Diego Comic-Con

Playable Games and Tournaments Highlight Nintendo’s Family-Friendly Activities

Super Mario Maker at San Diego Comic-Con 2015 promo

REDMOND, Wash., July 1, 2015 – Nintendo is headed to Comic-Con in San Diego with a wide variety of fun games for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS and multiple fan tournaments for games like Splatoon and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Fans of all ages are encouraged to visit the Nintendo Gaming Lounge in the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina (333 W. Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101), directly adjacent to the San Diego Convention Center, from July 9 to July 12 to add a little Nintendo magic to their Comic-Con adventure.

The Nintendo Gaming Lounge will feature many unreleased playable Nintendo video games, including Super Mario Maker, Yoshi’s Woolly World and Skylanders SuperChargers from Activision for the Wii U console, and The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes and Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash for the Nintendo 3DS system. The lounge will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 9-11 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 12. San Diego Comic-Con attendees with a show badge can also visit Nintendo’s booth (No. 235) in the San Diego Convention Center to view a display of almost all released and upcoming amiibo figures.

“Our fans can now take some of the great new games we showcased at the E3 video game conference in Los Angeles for a test spin,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “And with many of these games launching this year, it’s the perfect time to be a Wii U and Nintendo 3DS owner.”

The Nintendo Gaming Lounge serves as an oasis for both Comic-Con attendees and local Southern California residents looking for a fun place to take their families and to see what is on the horizon from Nintendo. One of the playable games highlighted in the lounge is Super Mario Maker, the upcoming Wii U game that lets players play, create and share their own Super Mario Bros.--themed levels using environments, power-ups and characters from the original Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World and New Super Mario Bros. U games. Super Mario Maker was well-received at the recent E3 expo, receiving more than 20 awards from critics. Visitors can also view a stage show in which members of the Nintendo Treehouse will demonstrate the game’s features, including level-creation techniques that will help people easily create custom levels in the game to share with friends. Nintendo Gaming Lounge attendees can even meet the voice of Mario himself, Charles Martinet. More information about the schedule of Charles Martinet activities will be shared in the future.

Nintendo Adds New Online Multiplayer Game Mode for Kids and Squids in Splatoon

Splatoon for Wii U logo

Tower Control, a new game mode, will soon be added to the already available multiplayer modes in Splatoon. This mode will be added to Ranked Battle, which also includes Splat Zones. The objective of Tower Control is to ride a single floating tower into the enemy’s base. Both teams rush toward the tower, which is initially placed in the center of the map, and the tower will start moving automatically once a player climbs aboard.

But beware: Riding the tower will increase the chances of being splatted, as every player has his or her target on the tower. Riding the tower alone is pretty tough, encouraging randomly selected teams of players to team up to accomplish their goal. Just like in Ranked Battle and Turf War, players will be rewarded for working together as a team. Surrounding the tower and protecting the player riding the tower, using each stage’s features to gain an advantage and supporting each other are the keys to victory. Tower Control will be available at 7 p.m. PT on July 1. Fans can tune into a special Treehouse: Live with Splatoon Tower Control at 3 p.m. PT today to get a sneak peek of the new mode on http://twitch.tv/Nintendo.

The Splatoon game also features themed events called Splatfests that let players choose their allegiance in a popular argument and then compete against the opposing side in online battles. The first Splatfest for players across the Americas takes place all day on July 4 and asks players to choose which is better, dogs or cats, one of life’s great debates.

WiiU Splatoon screen Tower Control

Right now, players can already choose their allegiance in-game and receive a special in-game T-shirt showing support for their side. As players battle in Splatfest, they can rank up and earn in-game Super Sea Snails, which can be used to further customize and improve their gear. The winning team at the end of Splatfest will also receive bonus Super Sea Snails. Stay tuned for information about additional Splatfests.

Since Splatoon launched exclusively for Wii U on May 29, Nintendo has added a variety of new content, including new maps and weapons. The game will continue to be supported through new downloadable content, including an update in August that has more robust matchmaking options. Follow the Splatoon Tumblr page, http://splatoonus.tumblr.com/, to get the latest information about new content.

Squid Invasion: Nintendo’s Splatoon Game for Wii U Crosses 1 Million in Sales

Splatoon Box Art

Thousands of New Players Spawn Every Day

REDMOND, Wash., June 23, 2015 – Nintendo has hauled up its nets, tallied its catch and crossed another milestone. Sales of Splatoon, the new squid-based game for Nintendo’s Wii U home console, have crossed 1 million worldwide, according to Nintendo’s internal figures. That figure includes more than 476,000 physical and digital units sold in the Americas, more than 368,000 sold in Japan, more than 230,000 sold in Europe and an additional 20,000 sold in Australia and New Zealand.

“Ever since Splatoon launched on May 29 in the United States, we’ve seen thousands of people go online to have fun in this colorful, chaotic competition,” said Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime. “This milestone puts us in a nice position as we prepare to launch 11 more exclusive Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games before the end of the year, plus amiibo, digital offerings and games from our third-party partners.”

Splatoon multiplayer pits teams of four online players against one another as they try to splatter a majority of the playing area with their team’s colorful ink. Players can transform into squids and swim through pools of their own ink to move faster or maneuver up walls to access hard-to-reach areas.

Note that broadband Internet access is required for online play. Remember that Wii U features parental controls that let adults manage the content their children can access. For more information about this and other features, visit http://www.nintendo.com/wiiu.

Solitaire Dungeon Escape

Solitaire Dungeon Escape - Rescue your princess using magic cards..

Your princess is locked up in the last room of an intricate dungeon, guarded by a dragon.

The keys to open the doors, are split in 16 parts.

The only way to get these parts is solving a card game with magic cards. Let the adventure begin!

The card game consists in clearing the board by taking a card that is one above or below than the card on the deck.

Among the 160 levels available to play, you would find several missions. From level 6 you would have available a wild card, that you would be able to use any time replacing the card that you need.

It's very useful for building long sequences. Each card taken off from the board has a value of 100 points, and if it follows a sequence then its value would have 50 bonus points.

This means that the longer the sequence is then more points you get.
