Whitethorn Games and solo-developer sKaule bring a chef’s touch to the gaming world with their upcoming release, Magical Delicacy. This highly anticipated Metroidvania-lite-meets-cooking game is set to launch on July 16, 2024, on Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox. With its charming storyline and unique gameplay, Magical Delicacy is sure to entice gamers of all ages.
Set in an enchanting world filled with magic and wonder, Magical Delicacy follows the journey of a young witch named Flora. Seeking to hone her magical skills and become a fully-fledged witch, Flora travels to the mystical town of Grat. It is here that players will join her on a scrumptious and wholesome adventure filled with cooking, potions, and intriguing characters.
Flora sets up shop in Grat, offering her culinary and alchemy skills to the townsfolk and travelers. As she navigates through the charming harbor town, she discovers the stories of its inhabitants and the secrets that lie within its walls. Along the way, players will collect ingredients from shops, forage in the town, and even grow their own in Flora’s garden.
But cooking in Magical Delicacy is more than just following recipes. With an extensive cooking system, players have the freedom to get creative and fulfill even the oddest orders. And as Flora’s skills grow, so does her kitchen. By commissioning new equipment, players can turn Flora’s kitchen into a dreamy cooking haven.
Aside from the main storyline, players can also explore the town and engage in optional encounters, adding to the game’s replay value. And with a 2D platformer inspired by Metroidvanias, players can unlock new abilities, reach new areas, and discover shortcuts.
