10:10 Games, Funko, Inc. and Universal Products & Experiences Deliver Thrills at San Diego Comic-Con with Exciting Funko Fusion Revelations!
San Diego Comic-Con is always a highly anticipated event for fans of pop culture and this year’s edition did not disappoint. Among the many exciting announcements and reveals was 10:10 Games’ highly anticipated collaboration with Funko, Inc. and Universal Products & Experiences, Funko Fusion. During their panel at the con, the creative minds behind the upcoming video game unveiled a slew of new details, including a story trailer, casting announcements, and an exclusive look at the game’s main villain.
The buzz surrounding Funko Fusion has been building for months and fans were extremely eager to see what the game had in store. The team did not disappoint as they debuted the action-adventure game’s story trailer, giving fans a taste of what to expect in terms of gameplay and storyline. But the biggest reveal of the panel was the introduction of the game’s primary antagonist, Eddy, voiced by the legendary Clancy Brown (known for his roles in iconic films like The Shawshank Redemption and Highlander). Eddy, a shapeshifting character with a thirst for domination, is set to pose a formidable challenge for players as they navigate through Funko Fusion’s pop culture-inspired worlds.
“Your Worlds Will Fall. Your People Will Suffer. And I Will Have Infinite Power!”
Speaking of worlds, the panel also saw the surprise appearance of acclaimed comics creator Robert Kirkman, who revealed details about two of his beloved properties being featured in the game – Invincible and The Walking Dead. Fans were treated to a first look at the Invincible level and playable characters, as well as a sneak peek at iconic characters from The Walking Dead universe.
Joining the panelists were 10:10 Games’ CEO and founder, Jon Burton, co-founder and Head of Publishing, Arthur Parsons, Funko’s VP of Licensing & Business Development, Jason Bischoff, as well as Monkeypaw Productions’ Creative Director and Jordan Peele’s producing partner, Ian Cooper. The excitement continued as fan-favorite voice actor Kellen Goff was announced to be reprising his role as Freddy Fazbear from Five Nights at Freddy’s in Funko Fusion.
But that’s not all, Funko also announced a special line of Funko Fusion Funko Pop! figures based on select in-game characters, which will be available later this summer at Funko.com and select global retailers. These figures will also include codes that players can redeem for exclusive in-game bonus characters and outfits, including Mecha Freddy and “Variant” outfits for fan-favorite characters like He-Man.
Funko Fusion is set to launch on September 13, 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, with a release scheduled for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on November 15, 2024. Digital pre-orders are already available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, while physical console editions can be pre-ordered through select global retailers. Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 will open soon.
For PlayStation users, there is even more exciting news as the game will offer a minimal cost upgrade for those who purchase the PlayStation 4 digital edition, while PlayStation 5 digital edition purchases will include access to the PlayStation 4 version upon release. This is a testament to the team’s commitment to making the game accessible to all fans, regardless of their console preference.
